Driving forward but giving back!
We are relaunching our legendary Drive for Charity campaign.
With over £1.2 million in donations since hitting the road 21 years ago, we’re now aiming for an even bigger impact in 2025.

Here’s What We’re Doing
Our dedication to the well-being of our local community extends far beyond the toll booths. We genuinely care about the towns and villages around the motorway, and our Drive for Charity campaign is crafted to support them.
- Strategic Charity Partnerships: We’re teaming up with three local charities for two years, focusing on education & safety, sustainability & biodiversity, and community & culture.
- On the Road School Travel Scheme: Schools and colleges will keep cruising the M6toll for free through an upgraded breeze account.
- In the Community Scheme: Inviting grassroots projects to apply for funding based on quarterly themes, starting with a focus on women’s initiatives.

M6toll and Midlands Air Ambulance: Driving Change, Saving Lives!
We are proud to announce a new 2-year partnership with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as part of our Drive for Charity initiative.
For 21 years, we’ve supported Midlands Air Ambulance, donating over £500,000 and funding hundreds of lifesaving missions. We’ve also backed campaigns like Sky Champs, providing educational activities for children.
Our new partnership will focus on:
- Education and safety projects, including the Clinical / First Aid Educational Programme
- Wear it Red campaign
- Cannock Chase Running Festival.
“We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Together, we can make a significant impact and save more lives.”

We are excited to announce the second of three 2-year strategic charity partnerships, with the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust (LHCRT) as part of our Drive for Charity initiative, focusing on ‘Community and Culture.’
The Restoration Trust is entirely volunteer-led and is dedicated to restoring the historic 7-mile Lichfield Canal, which was completed in 1797 but was abandoned in 1954 due to the decline of the national inland waterways network. Their goal is to bring this significant waterway back to its former glory and recreate the gateway to the Birmingham Canal Navigations.
We have a long-standing relationship with the Trust, as the Lichfield Canal Aqueduct spans the motorway, having been installed before the road opened to traffic in 2003. The aqueduct remains unconnected to the canal, as restoration continues.
Our new partnership will focus on:
- providing much-needed tools, equipment, and resources for personal and public safety to support the volunteer teams.
- The Trust’s education programme with local communities, schools, and Scout groups on restoration and biodiversity projects.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust. This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting community and cultural initiatives that make a positive impact on our environment and local heritage. Our teams are eager to volunteer their time and get involved in these meaningful projects.”

This announcement comes ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week (12-18 May 2025), with this year’s theme being ‘Community’, reflecting the vital role that supportive communities play in enhancing mental health and well-being.
