Job Title – Apprentice IT Support Analyst

Full Time: 40 hours

Salary; Circa 25k per annum

 

About Opportunity

Midland Expressway Limited are seeking an Apprentice IT Support Analyst to join the IT department.  The Apprentice IT Support Analyst will develop an extensive array of skills and acquire experience in supporting a diverse selection of technologies. This role will aid the IT team in maintaining our key performance indicators (KPIs) while contributing to the delivery of innovation through critical business initiatives.  The role will also act as part of the 1st line support for all staff in the business, utilising the ITSM platform Top Desk.

In this role, your tasks will include:

  • Assist the IT Business & Support analyst in providing support to end users.
  • Carry out daily checks
  • Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks as defined by IT Management Team including application updates/ patching/ Lane updates.
  • Support the IT Business & Support Analyst on appropriate Level 1& 2 technical issues.
  • Support the wider IT team with their pillars administration.
  • Assist with the continual improvements around our ITSM tool.
  • Assist with management of key IT suppliers
  • Help Identify key stakeholders and resources needed to deliver initiatives.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives working closely with business SME’S
  • Support the team in delivery end to end traceability against quality business requirements and /functional specifications
  • Support the IT Management in IT projects & any administration tasks.
  • Assist in the delivery of End-user knowledge base articles for ITSM & end user training.
  • Supporting initial scoping & initiation of IT Projects
  • Support, manage and develop, as required, the various Business Applications within the MEL portfolio including the Tolling Solutions and supporting hardware/infrastructure.
  • Support/manage both existing and new source systems integrations across a range of Business and Tolling Applications.
  • Support the delivery of enhancements to ensure solutions to business problems are innovative and fit-for-future.
  • Assist with the implementation of new Tolling technologies and the management of existing/new supplier base.

Essential skills:

  • Computer literacy including but not limited to Windows/ Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of Cyber Security
  • Intermediate level of IT skills – particularly MS Office/ Windows.
  • knowledge of iOS and android
  • Good level skills in respect of verbal & written communication
  • Able to positively manage and build stakeholder relationship
  • Good problem-solving skills with an ability to think outside the box
  • Understand change management skills and ability to support & adapt within a changing environment
  • Good analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Experience working both individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience working to deadlines.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools
  • Knowledge of Azure/Active directory.
  • Knowledge of Networking technologies
  • Knowledge computer/server hardware
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of Power apps/ Power automate.
  • Awareness of information security and ensuring that all business and technical proposals adhere to information security policies
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle and delivery in a technical environment
  • Basic understanding of business financial processes
  • Basic project management skills to help with IT projects.
  • Ability to create process maps/flow charts.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit all levels of stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience of Active Directory Users and Computers.
  • Experience dealing with customers
  • Experience working with an IT ticketing system
  • Educational or workplace experiences on:
    • IT Hardware.
    • Software patching/delivery.
    • IT project management.
    • Networking
    • Cyber Security
